MEET KIM

Kim has been working with children, adolescents, and adults for over 15 years.  She specializes in helping children and their families manage a variety of issues, including:  anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, social difficulties, grief/loss, life transitions, and trauma.  Kim provides guidance and insight during therapy to encourage personal growth, identify strengths, improve problem solving, communication, and develop/enhance coping skills. 

Kim is experienced in and utilizes the following approaches to therapy: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Behavior Modification, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation.  Techniques and therapeutic activities are chosen based upon the client’s individual needs and goals.

Prior to working at HTG, Kim had worked as a clinician in a variety of treatment settings, including: inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), SASS crisis worker, private practice, and residential treatment for teens with emotional and behavioral problems.  Kim has also provided clinical supervision to other therapists working toward licensure and completion of graduate school.  Kim has certifications in Crisis Prevention (CPI), DCFS, and CPR.

During her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and children.  She also enjoys doing volunteer work at her children’s school, as she believes the collaborative connection between home and school is essential for healthy development of children. .
