Alexandra has worked in the mental health and wellness field for over ten years in a variety of capacities. She specializes in working with children, teens, parents/families and adults facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, communication issues, developmental transitions, self-esteem issues, loss, illness and various trauma.
Alexandra welcomes clients into a safe space to explore life's hardest issues and how each individual can reach their chosen goals. She provides insight and guidance during therapy to encourage growth, understanding, and acceptance of oneself and others. Clients are supported in identifying, building, and utilizing their own strengths while moving through life's challenges to develop resiliency and a larger sense of peace.
Alexandra is experienced in and utilizes the following types of therapy: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-based Therapy, and psychoeducation. Techniques and therapeutic activities are chosen based on what best meets each client's needs.
Alexandra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received a Master of Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago and a Master of Science in Community and Agency Counseling from Troy University, Montgomery . Alexandra is diligent about her continuing education through attending various lectures, workshops, and trainings to strengthen her therapeutic perspective and practice. Alexandra holds a variety of professional certifications such as Youth Mental Health First Aid and Crisis Prevention. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She presented on anxiety at the 2017 Illinois Social Workers Conference. She is a member of International Association of Trauma Professionals and the National Alliance of Mental Health.
